Custom plastic gift cards are printed with a magnetic strip to apply a dollar value or loyalty points. You control the card's value electronically, generating a renewable balance and creating opportunities for repeat shopping, increased customer loyalty, in-store promotions, and cross-selling. You also benefit from potential impulse buying and up-selling since your customers will be inclined to apply the gift card value towards higher-priced merchandise. Best of all, your electronically controlled gift card means no cash refunds on balance.

Plastic gift cards are not just for the big retailers anymore. Many shopping malls, retailers, gyms, hotels, and hospitality businesses prefer to distribute custom gift cards, or plastic passes to their clients to allow them to access certain services without much delay. This can accommodate paying bills, checking in or check out, applying loyalty points, activating discount codes, and many more purposes.

Many companies include synthetic plastic cards in gift cards or ID cards as marketing tools for increasing brand awareness and motivating others to join them.

For advertising brands and promoting business, plastic gift cards from iPOS Supply offer a whole new trend to bring in more customers. Many companies invest in well-designed gift cards and send them to their clients as tokens or offers during special events or festive occasions.

Each gift card has a magnetic stripe that is encoded with a unique serial number. When a customer purchases a gift card, the magnetic stripe is "swiped" using a card reading devise connected to the point of sale (POS) system. The point of sales system recognizes the gift card's unique serial number and prompts the cashier to assign a value to it. For this example, the customer wishes to put $100.00 on the gift card. The cashier takes the customer's $100.00 and keys in this amount. The point of sales system then assigns this value to the gift card's serial number. The gift card's value is not stored on the card but within the point of sale system.

Please ask your point of sale (POS) system provider the following questions:

  • What magnetic stripe coercivity is required for my system? Hi-co or lo-co?
    • Our default coding is Hi-CO
  • What track or tracks should be used to encode the data? 1, 2 and/or 3?
    • We Encoding is on track-2. We use 9 digits unique encoding for each card.
  • Are there any specific characters or number of characters necessary to be used in the encoded data?
    • Centain Cards requires special characters like "/?!
