Epson TM-H6000 Ribbon Guide: ERC-32 vs ERC-41 vs ERC-43

Quick answer: TM-H6000 multifunction printers can use more than one ribbon because slip printing and endorsement printing are separate impact mechanisms. The exact endorsement ribbon also changes by printer generation.

This is why searching only for “TM-H6000 ribbon” can be risky. You need to know both which printing section you are servicing and which TM-H6000 generation you own.

Slip printing: ERC-32B

Epson specifies ERC-32B for slip printing on TM-H6000-family configurations. This is the ribbon used by the slip-printing section, not the endorsement section.

Earlier endorsement printing: ERC-41B

Earlier TM-H6000 configurations use ERC-41B for endorsement printing.

TM-H6000IV endorsement printing: ERC-43B

Epson changed the endorsement ribbon on TM-H6000IV to ERC-43B while continuing to use ERC-32B for slip printing.

How to avoid ordering the wrong one

  1. Read the full model number from the printer label.
  2. Identify whether you are replacing the slip ribbon or endorsement ribbon.
  3. Compare the existing cassette number if available.
  4. Use the Printer Ribbon Finder if the printer generation is unclear.
